Artist of the Month: Bryan Hamilton Chadwick

Updated: 6 days ago

This month, Filmmakers Connect is proud to spotlight Bryan Hamilton Chadwick, a Montreal-born, New York-based artist whose creative output spans nearly every medium imaginable.

From painting, sculpture, and photography to music composition, film, and screenwriting, Bryan’s fearless exploration of art and storytelling defies convention. At Filmmakers Connect, we deeply admire artists like Bryan who push boundaries, refusing to confine their creativity to a single genre or medium. His remarkable journey, both personal and professional, is a testament to the power of versatility and the boundless possibilities that arise when artists dare to explore without limits.

In recent years, Bryan’s foray into filmmaking and screenwriting has earned him prestigious accolades. His feature screenplay, The Spoon, has garnered multiple honors, including Best Feature Screenplay and Screenplay of the Month at the Festigious International Film Awards, as well as a Best Comedy Screenplay nomination at the Los Angeles Film Awards.

The screenplay—a coming-of-age comedy-drama based on real events—tackles an unspoken universal experience of adolescence with bold humor and heart. Bryan’s work also spans genres such as documentary, with A Peek Inside, an intimate glimpse into the creative world of costume designer Linda Cho, and experimental short films like Skies Over Ground Zero One, which won Best Sound Design at LAFA.

Bryan Hamilton Chadwick’s diverse artistry reflects a lifelong pursuit of creative freedom. His first public exhibition dates back to 1993 at Barcelona’s famed Els Quatre Gats—the same venue where Pablo Picasso debuted his work. Yet for much of his life, Bryan kept his art hidden or presented it anonymously, opting instead to finance his creative freedom by working as a speechwriter for the White House and a creative director at top advertising agencies around the globe. Over the course of his career, he has earned more than fifty international awards for creativity, including honors from Cannes, Clios, and Spikes Asia.

Beyond his artistic endeavors, Bryan’s passion projects have left an indelible impact. From co-founding YouthAIDS.org to creating “Healing Hearts,” a book gifted to families worldwide who lost loved ones on 9/11, his work often intersects with humanitarian causes.

Bryan Hamilton Chadwick’s multidisciplinary approach to art and his fearless storytelling continue to inspire audiences and peers alike. Whether he’s creating a thought-provoking documentary, penning an unconventional screenplay, or sculpting a new piece of art, Bryan’s voice remains as distinct as it is powerful.

Join us in celebrating Bryan Hamilton Chadwick, a true creative force, as Filmmakers Connect’s Artist of the Month!
