My name is Alainna and I've been writing since middle school. Enjoyed my high school free periods in the library writing fan fiction and my first book (which I hope no one ever reads). The librarian, Mrs. Crabtree, suggested once, after reading a chapter I'd just written, that I should write screenplays. I laughed, because no way could I write a movie. It wasn't until after I'd self-published my first real book (20 years later) that I fell into the film industry world by accident and decided to give it a try. Since then, I've been obsessed. I'm still writing books, but I am itching to finish a mystery-thriller I started a little bit ago once this most recent book project is finished.
Logline: Pawns in a peace treaty and living in two different worlds, Nylas and Aislynn will learn of love. But what lengths will Nylas go through to protect it when the peace their people hope for and Aislynn’s life are put in jeopardy.
When I was young, I fell in love with the story of the Swan Princess. In the start, the prince and princess spend little time together, seeing eachother during the summer as they grow up, their affection for one another growing as the years go by. This played a huge part in the story building for me. Add that to my obsession with the legendary faerie people of Ireland, and Across the Veil is the by-product I developed from the two.
At first, I was nervous about submitting this particular screenplay to competitions because of how unique it was. I worried that it would be too confusing to follow. But, it turns out, that is part of what makes it so unique to some of the competitions out there.
If you'd like to learn more about Across the Veil, I would be happy to send you information.
